WOOD > MDF

FISKBO Frame

Decorative paper-coated MDF products constitute the basic material that makes a difference in decoration because it has different color and surface options in all living areas in houses, offices, restaurants. So, MDF is included in many areas that we touch.

GENERAL FEATURES

  • The surface of the MDF board is smooth and flat.(+)
  • MDF takes shape very easily. At the same time, the edges of this material are as smooth as the surface, and decorative models of the desired type can be created.(+)
  • MDF is much cheaper than plywood sheet and natural wood products, which are other engineering products.(+)
  • The surface of MDF is also quite suitable for making veneers.(+)
  • MDF has a much weaker property in terms of screw retention than natural wood.(-)
  • MDF is a very heavy material, as its fiber density is high.(-)
  • Thanks to an easy movement of the cutting tools, it is necessary to act carefully and slowly to bring out the desired pattern.(-)

Why did they choose this material for this product?

Apart from its durable and stylish structure, it is also suitable for mass production. Therefore, it is one of the most preferred furniture materials. It holds well the screws applied to the surface and its edges, painting and decorative foil can be applied. It also creates a good floor for surface applications such as wood veneer or PVC. It is made suitable for all kinds of surface treatments by applying lacquer treatment on it or covering a single face.

USAGE AREAS

The range of use of MDF is quite wide. In addition to being used as a floor covering; It is used in the production of parts such as tables, door panels, drawer fronts with profile surfaces. MDF, which has an extremely smooth and homogeneous surface, is a very good base both for painting and for decorative foil or wood coating. It is also used for ceilings, door frames, doors, handrails, built-in wardrobes, covers, body and backs, office desks, kitchen and bathroom cabinets.

It is more durable, durable and still lighter than wood. Unlike MDF wood, it does not expand and contract. For this reason, the tree is more resistant to deformations, deformations or roughness that occur over the years on the tables.

Because the structure of MDF is lighter, MDF was used on the tray.

MDF was used because it can be easily shaped and painted.

Phases of Process

For the production of MDF, chips obtained from hard and softwoods are subjected to steam and passed through a defibrillator and converted into wood fibers. Then these fibers are dried and bonding agents such as glue, paraffin and hardener are added. The fibers, the combining substances of which are mixed, are then subjected to laying. After that, during the pre-pressing process, the fiber layers are compressed to a thickness of about half, the edges are shaved, straightened and sized. In the hot pressing stage that follows, the fibers and the joining materials under high temperature and high pressure are fully fused and combined to become sheets of the desired thickness. The final stage of production is the process of cooling the plates coming out of the hot press and sanding them to give a perfect surface. Superior quality fiberboard MDF is now ready to be used in all kinds of production.

Award Production Process

Steel and wood were used as materials.

First, shapes were removed from the wood with the help of a saw, then some shapes were removed with the help of a lathe machine.

Then, the removed shapes were smoothed with the help of sandpaper.

Next, the materials are joined with the nail halves.

And finally, the finished version of the project.

PLASTIC> PET PLASTIK

VATTENMELON, potted, bamboo-black

These plastic area a type of thermoplastic polymer resin that is useful in a variety of applications, including the manufacture of synthetic fibers, in containers with food, and in thermoforming applications.

General Features:

  • (+) Absorbs water from the environment, making it hydroscopic.
  • (+)It allows he material to be processed using a common molding machine and then dried.
  • (+)It has an excellent wear resistance compared to other plastics.
  • (+)It has a high coeffcient of elasticity.
  • (+)It has a low coefficient of friction which is useful in a variety of applications where other plastics are not avaliable.
  • (+)It has superior stability that makes it versatile and robust.

Why did they choose this material for this material?

There is no problem of fragmentation. It is durable and easy to shape. Its cost is more suitable than other plastics. The fact that it is a type of plastic that can be recycled plays an important role. Perhaps the most important one is its internal structure. It absorbs water from the environment, which makes it hydroscophic.

Usage Area:

It is used in products for use, liquids and containers for use, thermoforming for manufacturing and with glass work for engineering fabrications.

Manufacturing Techniques:

Due to speed, volume, logistics and economic factors, production is mostly carried out with a two-step process method. These steps are the process that continues with injection first, followed by inflation. In the injection process, production is carried out in a structure that we call PET preform and a test tube. These products are then subjected to a thermal process and formed in a cold mold with the help of compressed air and pusher piston in the blow molding machine.

Similar Materials:

  • POlYETHYLENE(PE): It has a wide usage area.
  • POLYPROPYLENE(PP): It is one of the widely used plastics. Automobile sub-industry, garden furniture etc. used in places.
  • POLYSTYRENE(PS): Packaging, plastic parts of electronics and white goods, etc There are usage areas.
  • POLYAMŞDE(PA): Fiber, toothbrush bristles, fishing line etc. There are usage areas.
  • POLYVINYL(PVC): Pipe, profile etc. used in the manufacture.

Cologne Bottle

Cologne is the scent that emerges as a result of mixing alcohol and many essences in it. Today, cologne is on the agenda a lot due to the pandemic. It has started to be found in everyone’s home or bag. If we move on to the structure of the cologne bottle, HDPE was used in the construction of the bottle. And in this way, plastics can be easily recycle.

The cologne bottle consists of three parts. The first part is the part that makes the cologne pour slowly. Its structure is soft plastic, the cologne is poured out drop by drop. The second part is the bottle. The bottle is made of hard plastic. This plastic is recyclable. The last part is the cover of the cologne. Thanks to this cap, it is used so that the smell of the cologne in the bottle does not evaporate.

Product Review: Paper Cup

Cardboard cups are cups that can be used comfortably while sitting outside in daily life.

Altough they pass less heat than cardboard plastics, they burn the hand when held for a long time. In addition, cardboard cups are not a type that can be used too much, 2-3 uses will cause problems and wear. In addition, cardboard cups can be changed constantly, as they are affordable.

In addition, cardboard cups are healthier than plastic cups.
